Chris Carpenter, President
Chris Carpenter is the President of the Northeast District of Kappa Kappa Psi. He joined the Omicron chapter at West Virginia University in February 2008, serving as its Vice President of Service for two years. Chris' principal instrument is the trombone; he is active in the Sudler Trophy-winning Pride of West Vriginia marching band, the WVU Pep Band, and Concert Band. After graduating in Spring 2011 with a Bachelor's in Computer Science, he will attend WVU graduate school, pursuing his Master's of Business Administration. After college, he plans to pursue a degree in digital forensics before transitioning into information security management. In addition to active participation in Kappa Kappa Psi, Chris is also a founding brother and past president of the Zeta chapter of Epsilon Tau Pi, the national Eagle Scout fraternity.
Curtis Sample-Hawkins, Vice President
Curtis Sample-Hawkins is the Vice President of the Northeast District of Kappa Kappa Psi. He was initiated into the Eta Gamma chapter at Morgan State University on April 5, 2009. He is a double major in Hospitality Management and Music (Trombone). He is still an active member of the MSU Band Program. He is also a member of the Pi Eta chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America, Inc. In the Eta Gamma chapter he has served as chapter president for two (2) consecutive terms. Having been a member of the MSU Band Program, and both organizations, he has grown closer with the art of music, the institution, and his fellow bandsmen. He enjoys meeting brothers and sisters and sharing ideas for the betterment of the entirety. After graduating from Morgan State in May 2012, he plans on going to culinary school, while teaching music theory to elementary middle school children and working for the Marriott Corporation. He also plans on opening a restaurant/lounge and a hosting a cooking show. Curtis is a very driven devoted brother and is not afraid of a challenge.
Meghan Bowers, Secretary/Treasurer
Meghan Bowers is the Secretary/Treasurer of the Northeast District of
Kappa Kappa Psi. She was initiated into the Iota Delta chapter at
Towson University on May 2nd, 2009 in the class of Alpha Kappa.
As a brothers, Meghan is currently Iota Delta's Alumni Relations
Officer, and was previously the NED's Historical Archivist and Alumni
Liaison. At Towson, she is a Music Education major (focusing on
percussion). She has been a member of the Towson University Tiger
Marching Band for three years, as well as Towson’s Percussion Ensemble
and Concert Band. Meghan’s love for music will continue after
graduation (in 2013) as she hopes to go to graduate school, and pursue Music Therapy.
Yvonne Daye, Member-At-Large
Yvonne Daye is the Northeast District Member at Large for Kappa Kappa Psi. She was initiated into the Kappa Psi chapter at Virginia Commonwealth University in Spring 2008, and is currently serving in her 2nd year as chapter president. Yvonne has been involved with the Symphonic Wind Ensemble at VCU for 4 years. She will graduate in May 2012 with a degree in Bassoon Performance and a minor in Special Education.
Historian/Alumni Liaison- Ryan Largent
Ryan Largent is the Historian/Alumni Liaison for the Northeast District. He was intiated into the Gamma Xi Chapter at the University of Maryland on October 23, 2010, and is currently serving as the Chapter's Secretary of Service and Trustee (parliamentarian). He is a member of the Mighty Sound of Maryland marching band, UMD Pep Band, and University Band. His instruments include alto, tenor, and bari sax; mellophone; and euphonium. He is in his third year at UMD, pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Government & Politics.
